Helsinki Sail Racing Management ry Member Clubs and founders are the major sailing clubs of Helsinki. This is the organization that creates and controls the Open Europeans event and racing organization.

The city of Helsinki and Helsinki Sail Racing Management are proud to host the Open European Championships in Olympic sailing classes in 2011. The Open Europeans will be the pinnacle event in the Northern Hemisphere next summer.

The sailing competitions are held between 29 June and 15 July 2011. There are a total of eight classes, including 470 Men & Mixed, 470 Women, 49er, Finn, Laser, Laser Radial, Star and Match Women. There will be Medal Races in every class represented in the Championships.
